Wine and wineyards of Campania

The region of Campania has a wine tradition very very old: it has been, actually, one of the first Italian lands to see the appearance and the cultivation of grapes imported from Greece and so the wine production. Yet before the arrival of Romans, grapevine production has been possible thanks to a weather particularly favourable, to the volcanic soil, to limestone terraces that expose themselves to the sea. The best areas are the peninsula of Sorrento, the one around Caserta and Salerno.
