What is the path of the Gods of Agerola and how to reach it?
The path of the Gods is a naturalistic path that is located within the Amalfi Coast and connects the municipality of Agerola with Positano. The start is located in the hamlet of Bomerano which is located in the municipality of Agerola at 600 meters high.

The path of the Gods is called this way because of an ancient legend according to which the Greek gods would have walked this road to save Odysseus from the mermaids. For centuries this has been the only link between the villages of the Amalfi Coast.
To get to the point where the path starts you can use the car or alternatively public transport. It is advisable to take the bus that leaves from Amalfi. In this way you can only go there and stop at Positano.

If you are going to live this wonderful experience in nature you should know that there are two paths. One is the high one that starts in Bomerano while the other is located lower and consists in crossing Nocelle.
Undoubtedly easier but certainly less impressive. The first route lasts about 7 hours and has a length of 10 kilometers between round trip. The path presents the most inaccessible points of the protective structures.
But that’s not all, in fact there are also panoramic terraces from which you can admire the spectacular view of the Faraglioni di Capri and the Amalfi Coast. Along the way there are also many sources of fresh and drinking water.

What to see along the path of the Gods
The path of the Gods is not only a wonderful nature trail but also offers the opportunity to visit places particularly suggestive. The first thing to see as soon as you leave Agerola is the Grotta Biscotto, a suggestive rock formation with cliffs and cliffs that offer breathtaking views.
Nearby there are ancient settlements called Rupestrian Villages. Their peculiarity consists in the fact that they were made by digging into the rock that runs along the path. Finally another suggestive place is the rock spur called with the name of Pistillo.

If you want to walk the path of the Gods the advice is to go in periods of the year not too hot as spring and autumn. Undoubtedly the best months to tackle the path of the gods are those of April and October. In fact you need to know that the entire route is under the sun and for this reason it is advisable to leave in the morning. It is also exposed to rain and weather and for this reason we do not recommend the winter.
As for what to eat you should know that Agerola is famous for its fresh mozzarella fiordilatte. But that’s not all, in fact there are many local products to try. Among these are the extra virgin olive oil, the tomatoes of Sorrento, the walnuts of Sorrento and the provolone of the monk. Very appreciated are also the lemons with which the traditional limoncello is made.
