The story of the Alba Truffle Fair of Alba.

The Alba Truffle Fairis one of the most important occasions to promote fine food and the excellence of made in Italy products. Particularly, it is an event dedicated to Alba’s white truffle, located in the area of Langhe Roero and Monferrato. In 1929, local restaurant and hotel owner shared the idea of an event dedicated to white truffle as part of the celebration for the Festa Vendemmiale. Starting from 1933 it became the Truffle Fair. Over the years the fair has had as its main goal that to promote local foods and producers. Today there are thousands of visitors that come from all over the world to take part in the event that takes place on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 of October to 5 of December.
The program of the 2021 Alba Truffle Fair
The heart of the Fair of the Alba Truffle is as every other year the International Market of the Alba white truffle, the place where you can buy truffle from the territories of Monferrato, of the Roreo and of the Langhe. Furthermore inside this area there is also a dedicated space for a cooking show and called Alba Truffle Show. This is a great container of gastronomic and cultural events that celebrate the excellence of this product. On the weekend of the fair there will be many national and international chefs, writers, artists, local cooks and designers. Here you can enjoy some truffle sensorial experiences and have the Wine Taste Experience. Michelin star chefs will prepare dishes to highlight the excellence of this majestic product. Among the many activities there are also the unusual dinners. They are exclusive occasion to get to know the cultural and historical places of Alba and its territory. Finally, we should mention the Truffle Hub at Roddi’s castle. Here you can opt for cooking lessons and dinners with star chefs.

Alba’s truffle fair: how to get there?
To reach the place of the Alba truffle fair you can opt for three different options. They are:
- train
- Car
- Plane
By plane, you can get to the airports of Cuneo and Torino Caselle from the main national and international airports. From there you can then get a taxi or bus to Alba. By car you can get to Alba on the A6 Torino Savona or A21 Torino-Piacenza freeway. Finally you can also take the train. The ticket for the Alba white truffle international market is 4 euros but it is free for children up to 15 years old. Finally there are many events that give you a chance to explore these areas.
