Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore

Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore comes from vineyards that are in the hills in Staffolo, in province of Ancona.

It is mainly produced with Verdichhio grapes (which must make up at least the 85% of the entire composition), but a small part (not more than 15%) can be made up with other grapes of the region. It is one of the fifteen wines of Controlled Denomination of Origin of Marche, variation of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi along with Sparkling, sweet and Classic.

Treatment: the grapes ferment in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, and in the same tanks there is the refinement process for eight months, before being put in bottle, where it remains for other eight months.

Description: this wine has a straw yellow colour. At the smell on can feel scent of flowers (jasmine and broom) and fruits (apples and pears). The taste is fresh, intense and strong; at the end there are marks of citron and plants, with a lightly bitter aftertaste.

Complement: it matches well with starters, first dishes and fresh cheeses, fish dishes (risotto, pasta, soups, grilled fish), raw fish, sea food, white meat.
