Piedmont is known as a land of excellence of Italy in viticulture. From Monferrato to Langhe, from Astigiano to the Tortona hills, the numerous wine trails lead to the discovery of charming landscapes with several stops at agritourisms and wineries that offer the opportunity to taste the wines and local products, such as scented Alba truffle.

The excellence of the countryside and vineyards of Piedmont is universally recognized, so much so that in 2014 the hills of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato have become the part of the UNESCO World Heritage site, regarded as an outstanding example of man’s interaction with the its natural environment. This beautiful area is the background of the Sori San Giovanni Agritourism, located in Isola d’Asti, the ideal place to relax and enjoying nature, but especially good wine, because the Sori San Giovanni is first and foremost a respectable place in the varied Italian wine scene.

After a career as a lawyer and twenty five years spent in England, Manfredo Adimari Moretti, owner of the agritourism, return to his homeland, where, at age 74 decides to once again get in the game animated by a passion for wine, a world fascinating that approached him to new and unexpected interest. This love led him initially to attend a vocational qualification course for sommeliers, thanks to which it has become the oldest Italian sommelier, and then to open the company.

Having analyzed the wine market of Monferrato, area dedicated to wine and only a few kilometers from the famous areas of Barolo and Barbaresco, Manfredo acquires and transforms a winery where, from 2012, he is dedicated to the production of a wine niche. The Agritourism Moretti Adimari is, in fact, one of the few to produce Barbera d’Asti Superiore “Cru Tinella”, a DOCG wine with intense ruby red color and a dry, full-bodied and harmonious.

The Tinella, compared to the most famous Nizza, has a disciplinary most restrictive, requiring an additional 6 months of aging in bottle over the planned 18 months, of which 6 in wooden barrels.

With the assistance of a skilled and experienced winemaker and with a desire to stand out on the local and national territory producing the Rolls Royce of Barbera, Manfredo has taken a 20% thinning policy, investing in the most innovative technologies. The result is a high quality product, winner of numerous awards, which undoubtedly stems from several factors, including meticulous care of the vineyard and the use of the wine-making technique called “cold maceration on the skins prefermentation”.

With a large swimming pool and plenty of space, the Agritourism Sori San Giovanni offers hospitality in four delicious and silent apartments with maximum comfort and direct pool access. Among the future projects of the agritourism there is the realization of an employee garden from the cellar with a tasting room and the building of an octagonal gazebo where vineyards are planted on teaching where will be held some real lessons in order to spread the wine culture, for example by telling the differences between the various types of grape and different agricultural systems of the vineyard.

Staying at Sori San Giovanni you will have the opportunity to discover and experience a 360-degree excellence of Monferrato thanks to its strategic position, to practice sports activities that this agritourism offers and sample typical regional cuisine in the restaurants located throughout the territory. All under the sign of good wine!
