Grechetto is a white wine of Umbria, made with Grechetto grapes, present also in other regions, among which Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche, Tuscany. As the name suggests, the vine variety has probably Greek origins and in Umbria the Controlled Denomination of Origin is present in Orvieto province, where it is vinified in purity, or together with other grapes to make Orvieto Classico.
Treatment: the grapes macerate in cold on the peels to give more emphasis to aromas. Then the wine ferments in cold and is bottled for the refinement.
Description: the colour is a bright straw-yellow, with green reflects. At the smell one can feel fresh scent of fruits. The flavour is fresh too, well balanced between acidity and body.
Complement: it matches well with starters, white meat and fish dishes.
