What is Eurovision?

The Eurovision song contest is a musical event organized by the EBU, the body that brings together European public television. The aim of the event is to promote the use and dissemination of TV and unity among peoples. The first edition was held in Lugano in 1956 under the name Eurofestival. Since then it has been held every year except 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The event consists of the first semi-final, the second semi-final and the Grand Final. There are 41 competitors representing the participating countries. The city that hosts the edition is the country that won the previous edition and this is why Eurovision 2022 will take place in Turin. The competitors in the race represent the 41 countries and the representatives of Italy will be Blanco and Mahmood as winners of the last edition of the Sanremo Festival. The winner will be decided by a vote that depends on 50% from the televoting and 50% of a jury of professionals.
