Trebbiano d’Abruzzo is one of the main wines of the region. For the great part it is made of Trebbiano grapes (85%) and, for the rest, of a mix of other grapes. It is the only white wine to have Controlled Denomination of Origin, it is refined and keeps well the ageing.
Treatment: depending on the winery where it is produced, it is subject to different fermentation and refinement techniques. In general are used steel tank, but sometimes are use, instead, wood barrels (oak or barrique) for the “riserva” variation. These barrels are used also to ferment the wine for a year before the bottling.
Description: the colour is straw-yellow and at the smell it is delicate, with ripe golden apples, chamomile and dried fruits. The flavour is dry, strong, a little bit bitter to the aftertaste.
Complement: it is ideal to match fish and vegetable starters, soups and pasta of the region, egg dishes, white meat.
