The run of the Bora. A trip through history, architecture and new scenarios for a journey to be enjoyed. For the super sporty but not only
The magic of three castles along a single route. That of La Corsa della Bora, the trail running event that takes place on Epiphany day in Trieste and on its karst plateau, suspended between sea and mountains.
It is an atmosphere of a fairytale fight between dragons and knights, that of the San Servolo Castle, a medieval fortress perched on a cliff, that the competitors of S1Trail 57km will meet shortly after the start, at the first light of day.
Further on, half way through, you will meet the romance of the icy and elegant Miramare Castle, built by Maximilian of Hapsburg for his Carlotta, to make the view even more spectacular from the race tracks on the Gulf of Trieste. And finally, the Castle of Duino, also a luxurious residence of Hapsburg origin, set in a natural environment of incredible beauty: that of the Falesie di Duino Nature Reserve. It is no coincidence that the poet Rainer Maria Rilke conceived and started the drafting of his Duino Elegies right here.
A running event along paths, La Corsa della Bora, which on 6th January invites everyone to enjoy the beauty of these places, not only the athletes, with competitive distances of 167, 57, 21 and 8km, but also families and four-legged friends, with non-competitive walks, excursions, guided speleological visits.
