The traditional cinema festival which takes place every year in Venice celebrated Italian fashion. Characters, VIPs and actors from the international jet set wore splendid clothes made for them by the most famous fashion houses, transforming the event in the lagoon into a fashion show in homage to Made in Italy. On the occasion of the most evocative cinema festival in the world, Italian Traditions carried out an overview of the Italian tailoring craftsmanship worn by some stars of the big screen.
Cate Blanchett, competing at the exhibition with Father Mother Sister Brother, by Jim Jarmush, walked the catwalk sporting a black, sleeveless dress from the Armani collection. A mermaid dress already used a few years ago, when in 2022 she participated in the SAG Awards. Tightened at the waist and characterized by a wide neckline edged with matching maxi stones, the Armani creation enhanced the shapes and elegance of the Australian actress, seen particularly radiant and sensual during her stay at the lido. Cate Blanchett glued the photographers to her, inaugurating the event and setting the bar to overcome at a truly prohibitive level.
Julia Roberts also landed in Venice. The protagonist face of the cult film, Pretty Woman, wore a dark Versace dress, hand-embroidered by Dario Vitale. For the first time at the festival, Roberts brought to the stage the clever textures of Italian craftsmanship from one of the most established maisons in the world, now from the Prada Group. With her iconic smile, the American actress shed light on her face framed by long auburn hair, demonstrating shining shape and enthusiasm to spare. Present in Venice with a film out of competition by Luca Guadagnino, After the Hunt, Julia Roberts never ceases to amaze. The tailored fitted dress, was animated by vibrant geometries in uniform navy blue color. The charm of the actress embellished the damier motif of the dress, which barely hinted at a train. An ensemble of wonderful Chopard jewels gave the actress that touch of royalty that the evening lacked.
Instead, Armani chooses the godmother of the 82nd edition of the Venice Film Festival, Emanuela Fanelli. This is a choice determined by a long, total white tuxedo with a deep slit in the skirt. A mix of avant-garde and rigor. A very long jacket well shaped on the hips, for the young Roman, winner of two David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress in 2023 and 2024, with the films Drought and There’s Still Tomorrow. On the red carpet Emanuela Fanelli deeply enchanted the audience with charm and personality. A pair of powder satin sling-back pumps with precious buckles sealed the image of a woman with great femininity.
An exhibition dedicated to big brands starting with the main sponsors of the caliber of Cartier and Armani Beauty, the segment dedicated to cosmetics by the late Giorgio Armani, who has been following the film festival for years, consecrating his partnership by providing the look of the stars. The look of Rooney Mara is bold, at the lido next to her husband Joaquin Phoenix, the latter executive producer of The voice of Hind Rajab, together with Brad Pitt, Alfonso Cuaron and Jonathan Glazer. Rooney Mara walked in a very short black suit, made of tulle and lace, from the house Givenchy, by Sarah Burton The actress has been the official face of the French fashion house for several years.
E’ Armani also the outfit chosen by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, in the lagoon with the film dedicated to Eleonora Duse, by Pietro Marcello. The naturalized French artist wore a nude dress, studded with sequins and beads, long down to the Manolo Blahnik shoes. A diamond necklace stands out on the neck. For the photocall the Turin screenwriter wore a dark suit from the Giada maison, embellished with green shoes from the Prada collection. The Venice International Film Festival re-emphasized the importance of Italian artisan excellence, preferred to all others, in taste and refinement, by the stars of the world cinema firmament.
