So here is a list of the things to see on a 3-day stop in this beautiful Italian region, starting from Florence, moving on to Siena and finishing off with Pisa.

Florence: the city of art par excellence

If you are planning your next holiday and want to discover what to see in Tuscany in 3 days we suggest you to leave from the capital of the region or Florence. The city was the cradle of the Renaissance and still retains the charm of the past. Here in fact you can admire works of art as few other cities in the world.

  • Basilica of Santa Maria Novella : it is located not far from the railway station. It is one of the most beautiful churches of the Tuscan capital where some important works of art of the Renaissance period are preserved. One of these is the Cross of Giotto known all over the world.
  • After the visit it is recommended to continue the journey to the heart of the city, that is Piazza Duomo. This is a real open-air gallery. In fact, in this place are the bell tower of Giotto, the cathedral of Santa Maria Novella with the famous dome of Brunelleschi and the Baptistery of San Giovanni where there is a magnificent golden mosaic.
  • In a visit to Florence there must be a visit to the Uffizi Gallery one of the most important museums in the world, Here are preserved works of great painters such as Giotto, Raphael, Michelangelo and Botticelli. Finally, not far from the Uffizi is the Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in the city that crosses the river Arno.

The history and traditions of Siena

One of the suggestions that follows on the visit of Tuscany is to continue the journey to this destination rich in history and art but also tradition. In fact, Siena is famous all over the world for the Palio which takes place in Piazza del Campo twice a year. It is advisable to leave with a visit to the city from this particularly suggestive place. In fact, its shell shape, the buildings around that seem to close it in an embrace and the terracotta flooring give it a unique charm. The imposing Piazza Comunale, the Torre del Mangia and the Fonte di Gaia overlook the Square. Once the visit is over, continue in the beautiful streets of the historic center to reach Piazza Santa Maria Assunta where the Cathedral is located. Pisa: here is what not to miss 

After visiting the town of Siena there is nothing left to do but to move toward Pisa, another important and fascinating town of this region. If you want to find out the things to see on a 3-day tour of Tuscany this is the right place to finish it off. We recommend the starting place to be the Piazza dei Miracoli which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites since 1987. Here you can find the Baptistery, the Duomo and the monumental Camposanto. But that is not all, in fact you should know that here is the very famous leaning tower. This is undoubtedly one of the most important and famous monuments in the world. Finally, we recommend to continue with the wonderful streets of the town center finishing off with a walk along the Arno river.
