Masseria Montepaolo Dimora di Charme in Bari

Capital of Puglia and important touristic and commercial harbor, Bari lies on a fertile coastal plain, overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Behind him lies the beautiful landscape of the Murge, where time seems to have literally stopped. Thirty kilometers from this town, whose territory includes ancient masseries often fortified, that in the past also fulfilled a defensive function, there is the pre-Roman art city of Conversano, placed on a gentle hill 300 meters above sea level.

In this beautiful natural setting lies the charming residence Masseria Montepaolo Dimora di Charme, a former hunting lodge of the sixteenth century, owned by the Counts Acquaviva d’Aragona and purchased in 1857 by Judge Cataldo Ramunni,  then inherited by the current owner, Anna Maria Bassi. Used for a long time as a holidays residence, Masseria Montepaolo then has not been used for equally long time, but after a teaching career lasting thirty years Anna Maria decides to turn it into a tourist accommodation, a strongly influenced by her passion for cooking choice. This passion has led in the implementation of the whole project, bringing it to play a pioneering role in the farm kitchen, that even today is dedicated to the creation of more and excellent custom plates, driven by the desire to bring to the table the quality and the excellence of its territory.

Masseria Montepaolo delight the palate of its customers with traditional flavors and high quality products grown according to organic farming principles: oil, fruit, vegetables and vegetables, herbs, almonds, used in the preparation of typical dishes of the Mediterranean diet-related seasonality and inspired exclusively to Puglia. Jams, pies, donuts, biscuits and fresh fruit harvest in the morning accompany the awakening of the guests, who will find in Masseria a piece of paradise.

Among the most typical and delicious dishes that the restaurant of offers, we suggest the orecchiette with turnip tops, the burnt wheat buns, the veal rolls with cheese, pettole and beans and chicory, whose kindness has been recognized and rewarded at the National Salon of the Agritourism of Arezzo.

From the renovation of the apartments of the masseria were born elegant and comfortable equipped rooms with period furniture from which you can enjoy the surrounding landscape of almond, cherry trees and prickly pears. At 200 meters from the Masseria there is the Torre del Brigante of 1300s, recognized as a historical and architectural interest by the Ministry of Culture, with another two nice apartments.

Little touches enrich and make unique the home of Anna Maria: a feature consecrated rural church with frescoes of 1642 used for religious functions, a large lawn with a beautiful swimming pool, a small grove of Mediterranean scrub and an orangery suitable for weddings, meetings and other events. The offer of Masseria Montepaolo, however, does not end here! Cooking classes, painting courses, wine tasting courses and workshops open to children and adults where you can relive the experiences of rural life and enjoy a luxuriant nature.

The hotel also collaborates with an association of yoga with which undertook interesting spa packages with massages, yoga, vegetarian cooking and Ayurvedic.
