Genoa – maritime traditions and tourism in the city that celebrates the sea

Italian Tradition celebrates the Italian cities that have written the history of our country.
Genoa, an ancient maritime republic, returns to being a protagonist on the occasion of the 63rd edition
of the International Boat Show (28 September – 3 October 2023), reaffirming its role as
capital of the sea, between tradition, innovation and tourist attractiveness.

La Superba and the sea

Genoa is not just a port city: it is a symbol.
Its thousand-year history tells of trade, of supremacy over the seas and of an aristocracy that
he was able to transform power into culture and architecture. It is no coincidence that legend has it that they were the

Walking in Genoa means immersing yourself in a unique heritage, recognized by UNESCO. Upbeat
Strade Nuove and the Palazzi dei Rolli system, built between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries by families
of the Genoese patriciate, they represent an extraordinary urban and architectural complex.
At one time, these residences welcomed ambassadors, sovereigns, and Grand Tour travelers; today,
thanks to Rolli Days, they still open their doors to the public, giving the thrill of frescoes,
monumental staircases and hanging gardens that tell the story of the greatness of the city.

The Genoa International Boat Show, now in its 63rd edition, is the natural expression
of this thousand-year-old vocation. From 28 September to 3 October the city will welcome again
enthusiasts, professionals and tourists, confirming itself as a global nautical showcase and symbol of
italian ability to innovate without forgetting the roots.
