Genoa Boat Show 2021 has been, now for a few years, one of the most unmissable Italian events when it comes to love for boats. It is a 6-day event where you have the chance to see a huge exhibition featuring many Italian brands, as well as international, and over 1000 boats.
Genoa Boat Show 2021: between past and present
It all starts in 1962 when a small boat themed exhibition is held in Genoa, in a space of 30,000 square meters. The event had initially been planned for a limited audience and the tickets cost only 250 lire. In that occasion there were several government representatives and all the important personalities of the boat world: furthermore, there were ambassadors, commercial delegations, and top dogs such as Olivetti, Agnelli, navy architech Fox, admiral Baslini and many others. At the time there were 300 thousand visitors for 585 exhibitors, mainly Italian.
And so, from small exhibition reserved to few it turned into one of the most awaited and appreciated events in Italy, and has become a unique one with boat lovers coming from all over the world.
Where will the Boat Show 2021 take place?
The 61st edition of the Genoa Boat Show 2021 will be held from September 16 to 21. The show will take place in Piazzale Kennedy in Genoa from 10:00 to 18:30. It will be held in a huge space of over 200,000 square meters where there will be more than one thousand exhibitors and over one thousand boats.
As expected, the event for exhibitors has been sold out now for a few months, despite the higher number of exhibitors space compared to the past: this year there will also be big brands such as Ferretti, Baglietto, Absolute, Sirena Marine, Princess, Sunseeker but also important shipyards, both Italian and others that do not belong to the boat world.
The Genoa Boat Show 2021 will reflect in every aspect one of the sectors that has best managed to come out of the crisis: there will be new spaces both on land and on water and a completely renovated layout to discover.
It is important to stress that the Genoa Boat Show did not stop even in 2020, as opposed to others in Europe, thanks to strict health and safety protocols, and limited access rules put in place to fight the pandemic.
Furthermore, data shows that the boat sector has had a great turnover even in a complicated year such as 2020 and still now in 2021 the growing trend already seen in the first semester seems to be confirmed. One of the most important things to take into consideration is that boating has been useful to favor outdoor activities, social distancing and it was helpful to boat lovers who bought small boat in order not to give up on their hobbies and on that sense of freedom that only the open sea can offer.
