Trieste – A moment of great prestige for the Friuli Venezia Giulia: the return of the training ship Amerigo Vespucci after his trip around the world and the departure for the Italian tour from the Riva del Mandracchio, accompanied by the mooring of the ship Trieste. Two symbols of Italian excellence that strengthen the link between tradition and innovation in the shipbuilding industry.
To celebrate the event, the president of the Region Massimiliano Fedriga, who stressed the importance of this day: “Today our territory has the honor of hosting two boats that embody the talent, elegance and high specialization that distinguish our country.”
Amerigo Vespucci, internationally recognized as one of the most fascinating training ships in the world, has won the admiration of every port touched during its journey, becoming a true ambassador of Made in Italy in the world.” Each stop was a testament to its timeless charm and ability to represent the best of our seafaring tradition,” said Fedriga.
Alongside this historic icon, the ship Trieste, the largest unit ever built for the Italian Navy, represents the future of national naval engineering. ” A technological jewel with strategic value, combining versatility of use and high innovation, the result of the talent of our shipbuilding,” said the governor.
Fedriga then addressed a thought to the personnel of the Navy and the armed forces, emphasizing the fundamental role of the men and women who serve the country every day with dedication. ” Behind every ship there is professionalism, sacrifice and a sense of duty. They deserve our gratitude for their service in safeguarding security, freedom and democratic values in every operational scenario.”
