It is not just a farm, but also an organic farm, as well as holistic center and a residence for artists. Borgo del Sole was born originally as a farm business when, in 2000, Alessia and Jacopo decided to buy an old ruin dating back some two centuries ago, where in ancient times stood a factory of bells and, before that, a tavern. After renovation, which lasted about seven years, they opened the farmhouse. Surrounded by about four hectares of land, partly used as organic farming and partly remaining available to the guests, the property is composed of three different buildings: a large manor house, an old adjacent barn that houses a cozy apartment and a common room with kitchen, and a third building that houses a wood stove restored and operating, and a barn with an upstairs apartment and common areas of the ground floor reception area. The tourist offer includes a beautiful swimming pool, a large park, the nearby river, and above all an art workshop equipped with everything needed for painting, drawing and modeling clay.
Alessia and Jacopo share the same passions. Degree in cinema, Alessia is interested in visual arts, especially filmmaking and photography. In 1996 she began training in holistic disciplines to become a Reiki Usui Master and Systemic Constellations Facilitator. She leads groups for personal growth on Mythic Archetypes and Reiki and Systemic Constellations workshops in Pisa and Garfagnana, while Jacopo, who is an architect interested in visual arts, is now dedicating to silk-screen printing working in the workshop which houses his many works that can be admired by all guests. They like to think themselves as spiritual seekers, interested in all forms of expression, fully convinced that the best way to grow up as human beings is to meet new people, new places and ways of life.
