The Adamello-Brenta Natural Park includes a characteristic glimpse ideal to unwind from the routine: the Lake Tovel. We know better this destination of the Val di Non.
A trip to Val di Non is an opportunity to immerse yourself in nature and relax among mountain landscapes, apple orchards and enchanting places.
We are in Trentino and more precisely in an area composed of highlands, mountains, slopes with apple orchards, woods, streams, lakes, villages and enchanting castles.
Val di Non is beautiful in every season because it gives a different emotion according to the various periods of the year, but enjoys a greater charm in autumn. Among the unmissable autumn destinations is the Tovel Lake.
Lake Tovel and the foliage effect
Val di Non is particularly alive in November because it starts with the apple harvest and continues with the grape harvest, but the Lake Tovel in autumn acquires a unique charm.
The body of water rises within the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park at over a thousand and one hundred meters above sea level and extends for over three hundred and seventy thousand square meters surrounded by the slopes of the Brenta Dolomites.
It is a beautiful place throughout the year, but reaches its maximum potential in autumn when the clear water reflects the colors
In autumn, larches, fir trees and deciduous trees begin to change color assuming the typical autumn colors that are reflected in the crystal clear waters. If you can observe the foliage effect from different points of the lake then you can admire the play of light and shadows.
It is a destination for everyone: those who are passionate about hiking; those who want to pull the plug from the routine; those looking for inspiration; those who want to make wonderful shots.
This lake is also perfect for families traveling with children because it allows them to immerse themselves in unspoilt nature.
How long does it take to go around Tovel Lake? The route is just over three kilometers long and is feasible on average in a couple of hours.
Lake Tovel: How to get there
How do I get to Tovel? It can be reached by car by taking the provincial road 14 of Val di Tovel from Tuenno and arriving right near the lake.
Once you get under the Tovel Lake, you stop at the parking and walk a short stretch of road until you reach the banks of the water.
From the Lake to the Tovel Valley
The Lake Tovel is the destination of hiking autumn because it becomes a real painting, but also the valley that hosts it is spectacular.
From the Brenta Dolomites surrounding the lake, the valley winds for about seventeen kilometers between the massif of the Campa and Monte Peller.
The Tovel Valley retains a wild character that fascinates and arouses emotions, especially if you love nature and love walking along the paths.

The colours of the larch trees and the rowan berries of the gardens of the surrounding huts create a unique landscape in which Monte Luco is the backdrop.
The colors of autumn can also be admired along the ancient path Sporminore Tracciolo characterized by a large number of beeches that are colored red.
Alternatively, there is Lake Tret, , a pond located a thousand and six hundred meters above the village of Tret: larches are oriented downwards giving shades ranging from yellow to orange.
