The Cilento is a land that does not end in a single holiday. Every corner reveals a story, a landscape, a different flavor. It is not just a destination: it is an experience to be experienced at a slower pace, where nature, culture and the sea merge into a perfect balance.
From the vineyards overlooking the sea to the beaches of fine sand, from the peasant tables to the vestiges of Magna Grecia, the Cilento National Park preserves one of the deepest and least contaminated souls in our country.
And if we were to suggest an ideal itinerary of three days, between beauty, silence and discovery, here is our selection signed Italian Tradition.
Paestum: where time has stood still
A few kilometers from the sea stands one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe: Paestum, the ancient Poseidonia, founded by the Greeks in the 6th century BC. Its Doric temples – Hera, Athena and Neptune – stand still today intact against the sky, Silent monuments to the perfection of classical architecture.
Next door, the Archaeological Museum holds priceless treasures, including the famous Tomb of the Diver, a unique example of Greek painting in Italy.
Punta Licosa and Castellabate: the silence of myth
South of Castellabate, nestled between pine forests, rocks and clear waters, is Punta Licosa, a protected marine reserve and place steeped in legend. It is said that it was here that Ulysses heard the siren singing. Today it is an ideal place for those seeking silence, diving and unspoiled nature.
Castellabate, on the other hand, is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The historic center is a tangle of alleys, arches and panoramic terraces overlooking the sea. Here you can feel the true hospitality of the South.
Not to be missed: sunset walk between San Marco and Ogliastro Marina
