“vIvA”: the call that brings Artificial Intelligence to the service of Made in Italy

Combining technological innovation and social inclusion to give new life to Made in Italy: this is the objective of “vIvA”, the call launched by the Fund for the Digital Republic – Social Enterprise, in collaboration with Google.org. With a total funding of €2.6 million, the initiative aims to support training projects dedicated to the development of digital skills in the field of Artificial Intelligence, with particular attention to the key sectors of the Italian economy and the most vulnerable segments of the population.

AI and Made in Italy: an opportunity for innovation

Artificial Intelligence is considered one of the engines of economic and productive transformation. According to a study commissioned by Google in 2024, AI could support 58% of the professions in Italy and contribute to an 8% growth in GDP by 2034. However, the Made in Italy sector is still struggling to integrate advanced technologies, limiting its competitiveness on global markets. The use of AI in strategic sectors – from agribusiness to fashion, mechanics to tourism – is an opportunity to improve efficiency and increase productivity.

Digital inclusion for a sustainable future

The “vIvA” call aims to train unemployed, NEETs, workers at risk of exclusion, people with disabilities and victims of violence, offering them skills that can be used in the world of work. As pointed out by Martina Lascialfari, Director General of the Fund for the Digital Republic, the initiative was born to make AI an opportunity accessible to all, contributing to the economic and social growth of the country.

Google.org also reaffirms its commitment to responsible and inclusive AI. Diego Ciulli, Head of Institutional Affairs at Google in Italy, highlights how investing in training is essential to enable companies to better exploit the potential of AI, creating new opportunities for the world of work.

Training and competitiveness: the key to Made in Italy

Through the “vIvA” call, Artificial Intelligence becomes a tool to reduce the digital divide and strengthen the competitiveness of Made in Italy. Technological innovation and inclusive training are today the fundamental levers to build a future in which tradition and modernity can coexist and grow together.
