The “Bartolomeo Scappi” of Castel San Pietro inaugurates a new era with the Liceo del Made in Italy, an innovative address that transforms it into an authentic training campus dedicated to tourism and food and wine. Officially approved by the Region between the end of 2024 and the beginning of the new year, the high school aims to become a unique reference for the province of Bologna. The registration will open on 21 January, but the appointment to be marked in the agenda is for Saturday 18 January at 11 am, when an open-day will present the training plan of the new high school.
The Liceo Made in Italy is spread over five years, with an innovative teaching that provides 30 hours per week in the first two years and 33 in the last three, divided into five school days, from Monday to Friday. This formula, already adopted by the other addresses of the Scappi, has been very successful among students and teachers. The educational offer is wide and varied, including unique disciplines such as food and wine journalism, history of food, anthropology and psychology of food choices, as well as innovative courses such as image of food in contemporary culture, The law and economics of the agro-food system, and the biology and biochemistry of foods.
Students will also participate in the “Taste Labs”, which include sensory analysis, critical tasting technique and gastronomic innovation. After five years, students will have the opportunity to enter the world of work with technical, organizational, communicative or divulgative roles in the food and wine sector. The professions envisaged include food & beverage manager, structure manager, project manager, food and wine journalist or food blogger.
For those who wish to continue their studies, the high school offers solid bases for access to university courses such as Science and culture of gastronomy, Viticulture and enology, Food technologies, Food Safety and Food Risk Management, and Dietetics. “For us it is a splendid goal – says the leader Patrizia Parma -. The launch of the Liceo del Made in Italy represents a milestone for ‘Bartolomeo Scappi’, which becomes a complete training campus for tourism and food and wine.
In addition to technical and professional courses, our institute will now be able to offer an innovative and unique high school course”. This new school is not only an educational challenge, but also a declaration of intent: to enhance the Italian excellence and prepare young people to become ambassadors of the food and wine culture of our country.
