With a personal exhibition entitled Tutto Torna – It makes sense, at the Amy-D Arte Spazio Gallery, Mattia Novello has risen to the forefront of the artistic chronicles with a new series of unpublished works conceived specifically for the environments hosting them. A trend already followed with the exhibition of works such as Space Telepathy, I Love You and Athomico, whose “meaning” is brought back to the exhibition space in which they are inserted. The heir of the poor tradition
The expressive language of Novello takes ever more form within an installation dimension, with works that take on novelty and diversity depending on the environment in which they occur. A very interesting thing worth mentioning is that he is called heir to the “poor” tradition because of the materials used and the tactile relationship of objects, not just conceptual.
His artistic training
The artistic training of Mattia Novello – born in Thiene in 1985 – matured between Milan and New York, and has already led to the consolidation of an expressive heritage that has imposed itself strongly as an opportunity for essential reflection. His is a powerful yet contemporary art that moves strongly not only in form but also in content. An artist to keep following, don’t you think?
Novello has a degree at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, graphic and photography studies at the School of Visual Art, where he met Rafael Esquer, an artist who has involved him in some projects for the Alfalfa study. Later he collaborated with the photography studio Demetriad, continuing his training process towards the integration of art and photography disciplines.
Peculiarity of his style
A Made in Italy path that reverberates in his creations, which follow the vein of photography, focused on urban scenes, and sculpture, with which he usually depicts objects of daily use. A sort of manipulation articulated between images and selected materials that take shape giving life to utopian installations. All expressed and immersed in an eternal present, and in relation with the space, which places him among the best Italian and international artists.
Among the materials with which Mattia Novello builds his works there is also graphene, a new material derived from graphite and conceived in 2009 by the Nobel Prizes for Physics to the researchers Andrej Gejm and Konstantin Novoselov.
The exhibitions of Mattia Novello include, among others, Design Wall at the Aiga Museum in New York (2011), Nascita Individuo Libero (2012), at the Flaviostocco Gallery in Castelfranco, Falling Up (2013) all ‘ Amy-D Spazio Arte of Milan, Art Miami (2015) at Ai BO Gallery in New York, and presence at the Miami Art Contest (2016).
