Marca: from 17th to 18th January in Bologna

Appointment from January 17th  to 18th  for Marca, the second European event dedicated to the MDD sector – Brand of the Distributor – held at the BolognaFiere exhibition area. Organized in collaboration with the Association of Modern Distribution, the show is in fact reserved for brand-name products.

2 days of meetings in the capital of Emilia-Romagna

A two-day event full of meetings, workshops and debates that stands out as an excellent event for the business community in the sector and an opportunity to compare the most important brands that operate in the large-scale retail trade and organized modern distribution.

According to a well-established tradition, Marca offers space to qualified exhibitors representing the Italian and international manufacturing industry, creating an ideal showcase for all the innovations presented on the market and many anticipations for the future. The exhibition activity is flanked by a dense information and training program, with conferences, study of industry trends, consumption trends and purchasing behavior.

Program and news

The 14th edition is marked by an increased exhibition space, thanks to the addition of two Pavilions to the exhibition area, as well as an increase in the number of participating signs and the increasingly incisive presence of international buyers and top managers.

The event also includes Marca Tech, expressly dedicated to packaging and logistics. The Marca Tech program includes, among other things, also a Specialized Conference realized with BE-MA Editrice, with a particular focus on:

  • smart packaging and
  • intelligent management of expiring products.

Intelligent packaging is an increasingly important aspect in handling processes, which directly affects the effectiveness and value of the business, the speed of the processes but also the environmental issue. In addition, the 3rd edition of the ADI Packaging Design Award will be held on occasion of the Show, an award designed for the most innovative products in the field of Made in Italy packaging.

Born from a project of the Association for Industrial Design (ADI), it sees a commission of experts in action who will analyze the exhibited products, selecting five among those that will better combine the functionality of packaging with innovation and design. Also not to be underestimated is the participation of a dense representation of international buyers, from over 30 countries, who will be engaged in B2B meetings with exhibiting companies that intend to export their products – food and non-food – to foreign markets.

The range of products present at the Fair is extremely wide: from perishable products to long-life foods, from organic products to beverages, from meat to fruit and vegetables, from fish products to confectionery and snacks.

The event will end with “The future of fresh plant-based convenience in the Modern Distribution”, meeting organized by AIIPA – Italian Association of Food Products Industries – meeting that will take stock of the growth of fresh vegetable products on the shelves of the large-scale retail trade, all supported by the presentation of data from a research conducted on the subject by the Catholic University of Piacenza dedicated to the topic.

An essential appointment for professionals in the Italian industry and distribution, and a safe and business-oriented answer on what to do in Bologna.
