The nougat Festival returns, from Saturday 9 to Sunday 17 November, in Cremona. This year’s edition will be full of news while maintaining the traditions that make it such a beloved festival, able to attract participants from all over Italy.
Between maxi nougat constructions, the golden nougat, historical reenactments in costume until the inevitable final show, typical of the event, this year the event promises an experience full of fun, culture and, of course, sweetness!
Torrone 2024: between tradition and innovation
The Torrone 2024 Festival has a rich program of news! For example, it will be possible to participate in meetings with the pastry masters during which you can admire closely the tradition of artisan confectionery, discovering secrets and unpublished curiosities. The meetings will be part of the unique event called “A sweet awakening”.
Another great novelty this year is represented by “The spirit of Torrone”, a series of tastings dedicated to spirits derived from nougat ingredients such as honey, almonds and dried fruit. A truly unmissable food and wine experience!
And, again, among the new proposals we mention the “Torrone destrutturato” – realized by a group of students of the Institute Hotel Luigi Einaudi with the help of teachers: During the event, young students will use the main ingredients of traditional nougat in search of new recipes and culinary experiments.
The Torrone Festival this year is presented as an edition in the name of innovation while maintaining the cornerstones of tradition as the live preparation of “El Cibalo”, an ancient nougat that is entirely prepared by hand. The showcooking will also be accompanied by a nougat tasting and the award of the realities that have distinguished themselves in solidarity with the Bontà Prize.
In addition there will be all the experiences offered by the main sponsor of the event that this year will be Sperlari. The sponsor will delight participants with many unique experiences and tastings at the Torrone Live Bar (under the Loggia dei Militi).
It will also be possible to taste the nougat ice cream by the master gelatiere Fabio Forghieri of the Gelateria dei Principi di Correggio, the nougat PGI of Bagnara Calabra and the homemade yeast of Panettoneria 365°.
Torrone Festival: much more than a gastronomic event
The Torrone Festival is not only a gastronomic event that welcomes the best producers from all over Italy to celebrate the typical dessert of this city: it is an event that will give all participants an experience full of emotions, Discover the history, beauty and culture of the place.
During the days of the Torrone Festival it will be possible to attend the best traditions of this city, such as the re-enactment of the wedding between Bianca Maria Visconti and Francesco Sforza, with a procession in Renaissance costume, Followed by the show of flag-wavers and jugglers by the Cavalcade of the Assumption.
In addition, this year will return the historic train (departing from Milan), various musical events and itinerant performances, dance performances and the maxi vintage installations in Piazza Duomo.
In short, the Torrone Festival will be a real tribute to Cremona, a celebration of everything that distinguishes it: from traditional food to its history.
