For the December guide, Italian Tradition has chosen to open the selection of unmissable destinations with
the Avio Castle Christmas Market. It’s not a random choice, nor just emotional: it’s the
result of a careful evaluation, made with the expert gaze of someone who has known the value for years
of Italian food and wine and the places that know how to tell its story.
We are in the heart of Trentino, at Avio Castle, the ancient fortress of the Castelbarco family, Barons of
Gresta, donated to the FAI in 1977. A place that still retains the breath of its thousand-year history:
mighty walls, frescoes, courtyards that smell of legends and paths that get lost in the woods. It is
here, inside the Baronial Palace, one of the most evocative markets in Italy comes to life. More than
25 exhibitors bring the essence of the area: typical products,jams and fine honeys, wines and
Vallagarina sparkling wines, cured meats, cheeses, and artisanal specialties. A real journey into taste, between
perfumes of wood, wax, spices and small treasures made by hand.
But the Castle doesn’t just offer flavors. On December 6th, 7th, 8th – 13th, 14th – 20th and 21st, from 11am,
guided tours will be organized among frescoed rooms, secret passages and stories that sink the
roots in the Middle Ages. The atmosphere is completed with music, shows, children’s activities and all the
charm of a Christmas experienced within the walls of an Italian historical asset. To facilitate arrivals, it is
there is also a shuttle service running from 9.50 to 17.30 (round trip € 2.00).
Italian Tradition includes this event among its must-see destinations because here every detail is
