If the embarrassment of choosing the ideal destination is insurmountable, you can take a look at the most beautiful villages in Italy and the locations Orange Flag, an award awarded by the Touring Club Italian for the quality tourist-environmental, and book your next trip with family or friends. Here are some ideas:

Canelli, Asti, Piedmont

With just ten thousand inhabitants, Canelli is a small town located in the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont. Historically it is divided into two parts, namely “Il Borgo” and “Villanuova”: the first is what has expanded over time, while the second is the oldest part dominated by Castello Gancia. The two areas are connected by La Sternia (also known as Via degli Innamorati) which, climbing up the hill, leads to the famous castle.

The symbol of Canelli is, undoubtedly, the Asti Spumante because it is here that comes to life; who decides to visit the town, in fact, can not taste it in the company of typical dishes such as veal and raw meat fassona, agnolotti and rabbit civet!

Bellano, Lecco, Lombardy

On the eastern shore of Lake Como stands Bellano, a small village that contains art, culture and nature. Just walk through its streets to find bars, shops and restaurants, alternating with gorges carved into the rock and paths to be followed during an excursion.

The list of things to see in Bellano in autumn is endless: the Church of San Rocco, Piazza San Giorgio with the Church of Santi Nazaro and Celso, the Orrido di Bellano and the lakefront of Bellano are just some of the recommended stops, Especially if you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of big cities. Do not miss the Trail of the Wanderer, a very long route that allows you to reach the various neighboring countries on foot or by bike.

Valeggio sul Mincio, Verona, Veneto

Among the most beautiful villages in Italy, Valeggio sul Mincio is one of those places where time seems to have stopped. It is located in the province of Verona, a few kilometers from Lake Garda, where it is wonderful to stop to admire the mills and taste agnolin broth.

Among the things to see in Valeggio sul Mincio is the Scaligero Castle, a medieval fortification of which today only the Tonda Tower of the 10th century remains, accessible by tourist train or on foot. Next, here is the Sigurtà Garden Park, one of the most beautiful nature parks, so much to be awarded as the Second Most Beautiful Park in Europe in 2015 and as the Most Beautiful Park in Italy in 2013.

Levico Terme, Trento, South Tyrol

Levico Terme is located in the valley of Valsugana, in Trentino. Besides being a very rich territory from the naturalistic point of view, it also hides a very important history that can be told and discovered at any time of the year. In autumn, however, it is recommended to visit the Park of the Habsburgs that, inside, houses more than 550 plants and often organizes events dedicated to flavors and typical dishes of Trentino, such as polenta, potato, honey or formi de malga.

But there is more, because Levico is famous for its thermal baths, whose waters flow from 1600 meters high, from the mountains of Lagorai, and are rich in minerals; this gives them a sedative and anti-inflammatory action, This is why many people spend a few days here to regenerate and regain strength.

Fontanellato, Parma, Emilia-Romagna

In the province of Parma is located Fontanellato, a charming village belonging to the circuit of the castles of the Duchy of Parma, Piacenza and Pontremoli, as well as the most beautiful villages in Italy. The ideal route starts from Rocca Sanvitale, a true symbol of the town, dating back to the fifteenth century, and continues towards the parish church of Santa Croce.

Among the things to see include the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary and the Church of San Benedetto, but what particularly attracts the attention of visitors is the Labyrinth of the Masone: it is a large park, designed by an editor and an architect, that houses a maze – precisely – and large exhibition spaces where they are often set up temporary exhibitions and cultural events.

And then, since walking makes you tired and makes you hungry, you can’t help but try the typical Parmigiana/Parmense cuisine: between raw Parma ham, culatello, cotta shoulder, parmigiano reggiano, tortellini, game and good wine there is only an embarrassment of choice!
