The ceremony for the presentation and cancellation of the philatelic
ordinary stamp belonging to the thematic series “The excellence of the production system and of the
Made in Italy”, dedicated to the Guarantee Fund for SMEs. The event, chaired by the Minister of
Business and Made in Italy, sen. Adolfo Urso, and by the Undersecretary of State with responsibility for the Fund of
SME Guarantee, Massimo Bitonci, saw the participation of the top management of Mediocredito Centrale,
in the figures of President Ferruccio Ferranti and CEO Francesco Minotti, and
of the representatives of Poste Italiane and the State Printing Office and Mint, Giovanni Machetti
and Luca Sciascia.
“A stamp that highlights the success of the Fund we have established and which, at the same time,
helps to make it known to our citizens, that is, to our families. The small and medium-sized system
businesses and the realities of the craft world represents an important part of our
production system. In the next few days I will call the first appointment of a permanent table
and continuous dedicated to this sector, a place of comparison that will accompany us
in the implementation of the implementing decrees on the annual SME bill and the drawing up of
next year’s”, Minister Urso declared.

economic policy promoted by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, rapid and effective at
support of businesses and the growth of the production system. The new stamp will help to
to know to the general public the value and function of the Fund, amplifying its recognisability
as a strategic lever for small and medium-sized Italian companies”, declared the undersecretary
Massimo Bitonci.

The cartoon depicts, in stylised graphics, some workers representative of the micro, small and
medium-sized enterprises and professionals, pillars of the national economy, to which the Fund of
Guarantee for SMEs, an instrument at the service of growth, innovation and competitiveness of the
Italian production fabric. In the background, a growing directional arrow and, on the left, a
gear, a universal symbol of work, progress and productivity. They complete the
stamp the legend “SME GUARANTEE FUND SINCE 2000”, the writing “ITALY” and
the tariff indication “B”.
The sketch was created by Fabio Abbiati. The stamp will be printed by the Philatelic Center
of the Traditional Values and Production Cards Workshop of the State Printing Office and Mint
SpA, with the tariff indication “B”, in 220,000 units.
