Lecce celebrates the Made in Italy

Grand finale for “Craft of Excellence” between beauty, culture and solidarity 🇮🇹

The fifteenth edition of “Artigianato d’Eccellenza”, the event dedicated to the best expressions of Italian know-how, staged between the elegant walls of the former Teatini Convent in Lecce, has come to an end. An event that, since 2009, represents a prestigious and refined showcase for craftsmen from every corner of Italy – and not only – with the aim of promoting and enhancing the authenticity and beauty of Made in Italy.

The opening day in the presence of the mayor Adriana Poli Bortone, recorded an excellent attendance.

The grand finale was even richer, thanks to the contemporaneity with “Cortili Aperti”, the national event promoted by the Dimore Storiche Italiane, which opens the doors of noble palaces usually closed to the public. The day started at 10.30 at the Liberrima bookstore, where the book presentation “Fashion, Beauty & TV was held. How television series shape us” edited by Franco Angeli. The volume, edited by journalists Monica Melotti and Valentina De Giorgi, will be introduced by the latter in dialogue with her colleague Leda Cesari, in a confrontation that combines costume, media and collective imagination.

Craftsmanship of Excellence is not only beauty and culture, but also concrete solidarity. As usual, the event supported projects with a strong social and environmental impact. Visitors will have the opportunity to contribute to the activities of ANT Foundation and Progetto Itaca Lecce, engaged respectively in home care for cancer patients and mental health support. In addition, part of the proceeds will go to the Sylva Foundation, active in the protection of forest and landscape heritage.

The event took place under the patronage of the Municipality and the Province of Lecce, as well as the Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane (ADSI).

“Craft of Excellence” is not only an exhibition of unique objects, but a statement of identity. In a time when everything seems replicable, the manual art and the local excellence become political and cultural act. Lecce, with this event, is confirmed capital of beauty, able to combine aesthetics, economy and social responsibility. Promoting the Made in Italy also means this: creating places where talent is exposed, knowledge is passed on and solidarity becomes a way of life.
