Lago di Como

Starting from the north of Italy, one of the Star Wars sets was Lake Como. Here, two scenes of The Attack of the Clones was filmed, set on planet Naboo. Villa del Balbianello, on the lakeshore, was the wedding location between Anakin and Padmé: its elegance and the beauty of the gardens were the ideal place to shoot those scenes. The other Como set has been identified between Tramezzo and Griante, where Anakin and Padmé stop for a picnic. Ideal location for it’s natural beauty and guaranteed romanticism.

Reggia di Caserta

Going further down the country you arrive at the Royal Palace of Caserta, the splendid construction commissioned by the Bourbons and built by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli, surrounded by a magnificent park adorned with sculptures and beautiful fountains. Here various interior scenes were shot – in Episode I and II – set in the Royal Palace of Naboo, where Queen Amidala resides.

And the Royal Palace of Caserta in this case provided all its architectural elegance, which has made it one of the most visited destinations in Italy.

Some scenes of Revenge of the Sith were set on the volcano, which in the film represents the places of Mustafar. Among other things, huge eruption scenes were also used as a backdrop to the exciting duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.
