Starting 30 million euros to relaunch the textile and leather industries – The call for proposals is now open: 30 million euros to innovate the textile and leather industries
A new chapter opens for Italian fashion, that of sustainable innovation. The Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy has announced the launch of an important measure to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises involved in the processing of natural textile fibres and leather tanning. A breath of fresh air for two fundamental sectors of Made in Italy, today called to combine manufacturing tradition and ecological transition.
Starting at 12:00 on 3 April 2025 and until 12:00 on 3 June 2025, companies will be able to submit their applications through the online window managed by Invitalia, subject implementing the measure on behalf of the Ministry.
Over 30 million plan to innovate and certify sustainability
The total ceiling made available amounts to 30.5 million euro (gross), with over 20 million earmarked for non-repayable grants and more than 10 million in soft loans. The objective is twofold: on the one hand, to promote autonomy in sourcing natural raw materials; on the other hand, to promote a green transition through investments certified by third parties.
The measure, financed by the Budget Law 2025, takes shape following the decree of 10 December 2024, signed by the minister Adolfo Urso in collaboration with the departments of Economy and Ecological Transition. Two lines of intervention for a more responsible fashion. The facilities are articulated along two main lines of intervention:
Growth and innovation – €14 million for projects that increase production capacity by reducing waste and environmental impacts. Funds will be allocated as follows:
Environmental sustainability – €16 million allocated for investments in eco-friendly machinery, environmental certification, use of natural fibres and recycled materials:
Both lines reward companies that certify their processes according to recognized environmental standards, thus contributing to the construction of a transparent and traceable supply chain.
