Typical dishes of the tourist destinations in the Italian Alps

These are gnocchi made using stale bread, flour, eggs, speck and parmesan. Another traditional dish of the Italian Alps is the fondue valdostana. It is fontina that is melted in a special pan called cuaquelon. Among the typical mountain recipes can not miss the polenta. This has been the main food of many families in northern Italy in the past.
It is called this way because the polenta is just seasoned with ingredients that vary according to the area of origin. In fact, different types of cheese are used depending on the territory. In Tyrol and Trentino are also very common the Spätzle which are gnocchetti made of buckwheat flour, water and eggs. Finally, as far as desserts are concerned, the sweet apple strudel typical of Trentino can not be missed.
