The Government relaunches the defense of Made in Italy agri-food
Close on fraud and agro-piracy – With the approval of the new draft law on agri-food by the Council of Ministers, the Meloni Government marks a decisive blow in the protection of Made in Italy and in the fight against irregularities in the agricultural and food sector.
The measure, strongly wanted by the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida, introduces a series of stringent measures against food fraud and agribusiness, providing for stricter penalties and a significant strengthening of controls throughout the supply chain. A concrete response to phenomena that harm not only consumers, but also the virtuous companies that represent Italian excellence in the world.
“This is an important step forward for legality and transparency in the agri-food sector,” commented Galeazzo Bignami, leader of the Fratelli d’Italia group in the Chamber. “The introduction of new specific offences, the tightening of sanctions and the adoption of instruments such as ‘temporary official blocking’, hit bad practices hard, but lighten the bureaucratic burden for those who work according to the rules”.
Fratelli d’Italia reaffirms its support for legislative measures that strengthen the identity and competitiveness of Italian sectors, promoting a more just, modern and safe agriculture. The objective is clear: to defend the authentic value of the three-coloured products and to guarantee citizens the quality that has always distinguished the Italian agri-food heritage.
