From the city of Naples comes the latest in street food: the “Mozza Cone”, an original spin-off of the classic mozzarella, served inside a cone in gelato style. The idea, developed by Michele Esposito, administrator of “Mozzarella Food Experience”, saw the light on 29 April and immediately conquered the web, collecting more than 500,000 views in reels dedicated to the inauguration.
Although we have not yet had the pleasure of tasting it, our imaginary palate is already conquered by the playful and pop concept: instead of the classic cream base we find a soft ricotta cream, while the “ball” to lick is nothing less than a whole mozzarella. There are also customizations: you can enrich your own “Mozza Cone” with topping like basil pesto or guacamole cream.
For those who prefer the “spoon” version, there is also the “Mozza Cup”, declined in different combinations of taste. Among the most intriguing proposals stands out that with ricotta cheese as a base, mozzarella cubes, crispy grains and pistachio sauce, all topped with a mozzarella cut into quarters.
With its mix of irony, aesthetic ice cream and quality ingredients, the “Mozza Cone” is a new must for Italian street food.
