From the heart of the Langhe to the world – the story of Guido Gobino, the chocolate alchemist

«Our craft company is increasingly attentive to the essential values that the future demands: gender equality, dignity of work, responsible consumption and production, attention and respect for our raw material suppliers.» With these words, Guido and Pietro Gobino synthesize the soul of a company that, from the heart of the Langhe, has been able to conquer the world without ever betraying its roots.

In an Italy that produces and endures, Guido Gobino is much more than a master chocolatier: he is a taste alchemist, a visionary entrepreneur and an ambassador of Italian craftsmanship. Its history, rooted in the family tradition, has become a model of balance between innovation, sustainability and cultural identity.

Roots: a family tradition

It all started in Turin in 1964, when Giuseppe Gobino, Guido’s father, joined a confectionery workshop as production manager. In 1980 the company became a family business, specialising in giandujotti and spreads. When Guido takes over in 1985, he brings a breath of innovation: new techniques, new aesthetics, and a vision that combines technical rigor and creative passion.

Innovation and research: from Tourinot to cremino to salt

Its Tourinot, a cute and refined version of the classic gianduijotto, has become iconic. The use of cold extrusion gives the chocolate a velvety texture and an unprecedented aromatic purity. But Gobino did not stop: he also created the Cremino al Sale, awarded best praline in the world by the Chocolate Academy of London, and has established partnerships with elite brands such as Armani/ Dolci.

Sustainability: Ethics as the main ingredient

In 2023, Gobino presented a transparent and concrete sustainability balance sheet: -28% plastic use, +95% paper from sustainable crops, and more than 80% of the energy used from renewable sources. The selection of raw materials is rigorous: 95% of the suppliers are Italian, and the Nocciola Tonda Gentile Trilobata IGP delle Langhe is the absolute protagonist. It is a model of circular economy and traceability, which combines craftsmanship and future.

A global brand with a local heart

Gobino creations are now distributed in over 40 countries, and have even reached space: some of its chocolates were chosen as “comfort food” for the space missions of Luca Parmitano and Paolo Nespoli. Yet, each piece continues to be thought, worked and packaged with the same craft spirit of the origins.

Values and vision: a model of conscious Made in Italy

Gobino is today a shining example of that Italy that produces with conscience: respect for work, love for the land, international vocation without losing touch with its own history.

A company that grows without chasing quantity, but investing in sustainable quality.

In an era of rapid consumption, his is a lesson of time, care and consistency.
