Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria, the prettiest Christmas markets in the South of Italy

One of the Southern regions where the tradition of Christmas markets is very much alive is without a doubt Puglia. In fact, in Foggia every year there are, in occasion of the Christmas festivities, the biggest Christmas markets in the South of Italy. It is a proper Christmas village where there are many shows and events and where you can find the typical booths. 

Another place in there region where there are the Christmas markets is Polignano a Mare. In this small town facing the sea, every year the stands and an ice rink are set up. In Basilicata one of the towns where you can live Christmas time in a particularly suggestive way is Matera with its light and traditional decorations.

Very interesting are the several holy re-enactments. Furthermore, among the streets and squares, there are the markets with the traditional local foods.
