Gabicce Mare has a lot to offer even the most demanding tourists: for those who prefer outdoor activities it is definitely recommended to visit the Parco del Monte San Bartolo, or a protected area where you can admire the flora and fauna including the hornbeam, the sea flax, many different orchids but also foxes, roe deer as well as different birds of prey.
A very frequent activity is to do «birdwatching»: armed with binoculars, listen carefully and observe the different birds that inhabit the park, being careful not to disturb the local fauna in any case. The park is also perfect for hiking or walking the many itineraries on a mountain bike.
For a cultural visit instead Gabicce Mare offers some historical churches: the Parish Church of Maria Santissima Immacolata, right in the center and the Church of Santa Maria Annunziata located in the Ponte Tavollo area. Close to the small bay of Gabicce Mare, it rises on a small promontory Gabicce Monte: the village is famous above all for the panoramic view and some beautiful places to visit, including the Church of Sant’Ermete, the Coppo Path that starts from the center and arrives at the sea, where there is a source called «Fonte del Coppo», where a water known for its beneficial properties flows.
Children will certainly appreciate a visit to the Aquarium of Cattolica, easily reachable in a few minutes by car: an underwater trip to discover more than 100 tanks where you can see turtles, jellyfish, sharks and penguins, a must for those visiting the area.
If you have a holiday of several days, you must visit Pesaro, about 14 kilometers from Gabicce Mare: a lovely town on the border with Emilia Romagna, here you can find sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.
The city, founded by the ancient Romans, is rich in history and culture but also attentive to the environment: first of all it is a «bike friendly» place, there is the Bicipolitana, or a subway on the surface, with bike paths and bicycles that runs throughout the city with several marked lines.
